Why hello there Disturbing Talkers! Welcome to your new home site, for all things Disturbing Talks.
To break in the new digs, we decided to showcase the 2nd half of our conversation with writer, director, actor, musician, Christian Ackerman. Christian has directed such gems as: Hell’s Belles, The Summoners, Watch Your Back, as well as producing the upcoming horror film 2 Jennifer and production coordinating the upcoming Death House — which is said to be the Expendables of horror flicks.
In episode 34 — really 33.5 — we carry on directly from where we left off. Drunk, electronic-loving, horror nerds, discussing the hell out of some scary flicks. We talk a bit about the more controversial remakes: Ghostbusters and Suspiria. In all honesty, I was pumped for the Ghostbusters reboot until my eyes fell upon some disheartening shit: Fallout Boy & Missy ‘Misdemeanor’ Elliott are doing the theme for the film. Now, in an effort to not sound like a bitter old man, i’ll say that it is sure to be a crowd pleaser — amongst generation z. But, for someone who grew up dancing to Ray Parker Jr.’s infectious beat, while chanting those famous power lyrics — encouraging us to not be afraid of no ghost — it’s a tough pill to swallow.
Nonetheless, Christian and I pull through — with the aid of alcohol — and have ourselves one hell of a conversation, literally: Demon flicks galore, talks of electronic music and more! Every episode of Disturbing Talks is living representation of the power of conversation… and booze.
